Hanwha Vision’s Sustainability Report 2023

Hanwha Vision, a global vision solution provider, is celebrating the significant milestone of issuing its first-ever sustainability report on December 20, 2023.

This pivotal event underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to transparency and sustainability. The report not only transparently discloses the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) outcomes from the past year but also marks a momentous step forward in Hanwha Vision‘s journey towards environmental responsibility and ethical business practices. This publication is a testament to the company’s dedication to fostering a sustainable and responsible corporate culture, making it an event of great celebration and importance within the organization and beyond.

To minimize greenhouse gas emissions within its facilities, Hanwha Vision operates solar power generation systems. The solar panels installed at the R&D headquarters in South Korea and the manufacturing facility in Vietnam, contribute to an annual electricity savings of approximately 17 to 24%, equivalent to a reduction of around 1,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

In its commitment to advancing the global video surveillance industry ecosystem, Hanwha Vision has been expanding its communication channels with industry stakeholders and customers, sharing the company’s advanced technologies. The company operates experience centers at the R&D headquarters, New Jersey in the United States, and Bac Ninh in Vietnam. Furthermore, it is constructing new experience centers in four regions of the United States and Mexico. Since 2020, Hanwha Vision has been fostering Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) by sharing technology with the Win-Win Cooperation Program. This aids in the enhancement of capabilities for Korean SMEs and facilitating their entry into public procurement markets in South Korea.

Hanwha Vision consistently strengthens its capabilities in information security and product security, striving to fulfill its social responsibility as a security solutions provider. As a result, the company has been authorized as a Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE®) Numbering Authority (CNA) to contribute to the promotion of cybersecurity for the public good by identifying, defining, and cataloging publicly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Hanwha Vision is creating a safer and more productive world by integrating cutting-edge technology into video surveillance systems, while fulfilling our social responsibility for sustainable future as a member of the global community,” said Soonhong Ahn, President and CEO of Hanwha Vision. “As a global leader, we will continue to contribute to the industry’s ESG initiatives to foster a circular ecosystem for sustainability.”

The report is based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the global guidelines for sustainability reporting. It complies with the disclosure recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and reflects both the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators.
