Samsung City at IFSEC 2011
Samsung’s booth at IFSEC 2011 was over 40% larger than last year’s and provided an ideal platform to effectively demonstrate the full range of Samsung’s security solutions made up from the company’s latest line-up of IP & Network products and other technologies from its CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Detection portfolio.
Many of the products on display incorporated technologies unique to Samsung. The modular approach to the layout of the stand allowed end-users, consultants, distributors, installers and system integrators to appreciate how best to utilise these exciting and innovative technologies to achieve the best possible return on an investment in security over a wide range of industries, including transport, retail, commercial, public space, critical infrastructure and residential, to name but a few.
Samsung’s eye-catching booth, which dominated Hall 5 at IFSEC 2011, was the focal point for many of the key visitors, including the international press, as well as potential and existing customers. The size, design and layout of the stand underscored Samsung’s stature as Europe’s fastest growing security brand.
A senior executive of UBM plc, which organises IFSEC, was so impressed with the design of the booth that he stated to James Smith, Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd’s Marketing Manager that it was “the most impressive stand build I have ever seen.”
A large purpose-built model racetrack provided some light entertainment to visitors to the Samsung booth, although its main purpose was to provide a very effective method of demonstrating the capabilities of Samsung’s license-free Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA), as well as the superb quality of the images which can be captured by Samsung’s high definition cameras.
Samsung Total Solutions
The concept for the stand was Samsung City with the objective of showing how all Samsung product ranges can work in harmony to provide a totally integrated solution. With this in mind, Samsung unveiled its new powerful Total Security Manager (TSM) software which enables the integration, monitoring and control of a diverse range of security systems via a single unified Graphical User Interface.
Visitors to the Samsung booth were provided with demonstrations of how TSM offers considerably more than just a very efficient and convenient method of monitoring and controlling security systems. Visitors saw how TSM is packed full of features to make true integration possible, even for end-users who have smaller system requirements. It also has an advanced alarm handling system which forwards information onto appropriate levels of security personnel and management, depending upon the designated importance of an incident.
Samsung has the ability to positively impact on people’s lives, both at home and in the workplace by providing seamless and fully scalable security solutions which will not disrupt an individual or an organisation’s day-to-day activities, but add real value to them. Samsung City provided the opportunity to demonstrate the full extent of Samsung’s capabilities and to show our customers how Samsung can help them to realise additional benefits from their surveillance and security system.
