Icelandic media company MBL was looking for a camera to stream live volcanic eruption via its website to a global audience in the expectation that the project can serve as an opportunity for the general public to observe volcanic activity and also a valuable resource for researchers and professionals in the field of volcanology.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Straddling the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, Iceland is a volcanic hot spot, home to more than 100 volcanoes. A long dormant volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula in southwestern Iceland has flared to life since March 2021, the first eruption in the region in nearly 800 years.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

A high-quality, durable camera was required to monitor volcanic activity remotely even in poor conditions, amidst the risk of a<\/span><\/span>n unexpected earthquake event.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

MBL decided to install a robust and reliable camera of Hanwha Vision. As a result, three Wisenet cameras —\u00a0XNO-8082R<\/a>,\u00a0XNP-6120H<\/a>, and\u00a0PNM-9030V<\/a>\u00a0— manufactured by Hanwha Vision, which you might expect to see installed at airports, car parks, stadia, industrial estates or within city centers, has been deployed to monitor activity at a volcano erupting near Reykjavik, Iceland. The cameras were installed within a weather-proof housing and are powered by solar panels and wind turbines as it is a remote area with no buildings around.<\/div>\n

The three cameras capture clear visuals, deliver a wide range of features for intelligent analysis, and withstand harsh conditions.\u00a0<\/span>XNO-8082R<\/a><\/span>\u00a0camera features up to 6-megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom.\u00a0<\/span>PNM-9030V<\/a><\/span>\u00a0camera supports both 180\u02da and 220\u02da view modes.\u00a0<\/span>XNP-6120H<\/a><\/span>\u00a0provides 2-megapixel resolution, 12x optical zoom, and 32x digital zoom.<\/span><\/div>\n

Moreover, the Defog feature fine\u00a0<\/span>tu<\/span>nes<\/span>\u00a0images covered by a volcanic fog or smog.\u00a0<\/span>A<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>built-in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>gyroscope<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>compensates<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>shakes<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>caused<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>by<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>wind<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>or<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>vibration<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>providing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>sharp<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>stable<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>images<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
